Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in Puy-de-Domme France on August 9 1976 the fourth child in the family. Her parents, a dentist along with a teacher, recognized and backed her passion for theatre and drama from a young age which superseded an initial desire to become a primatologist due to her love of monkeys. A quick and successful start to success as well as a swift rise in fame marked her as a young actor. In 1998, after completing her degree she was invited to be a part of Jeunes Premiers, a French TV talent-scouting programme sponsored by Canal+. She also was awarded the top Young Actress award at Beziers Festival of Young Actors. The experience led her to embark on a professional acting career. Though she was a student at the Institut Catholique de Paris and was a member of the church during her childhood, Tautou is now averse to this upbringing, stating that she's not Catholic. As well as her acting profession and modeling career, she has pursued a modeling career. Also, she is the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and is sometimes referred to as the Chanel Muse. Photographing is a obsession and she was recently shown her work in the Arles festival with the title Superficial. She focuses her photography on celebrities, fame and the press that scrutinized her after her fame-making debut with Amelie. There are also some photographs of her own self. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and international fame when she landed her first role in a major film, as the main character in Le Fabuleux Destiny d'Amelie. Amelie received international acclai box record and also received praise at awards ceremonies across the world. Amelie has been the most successful film that is French-language in the US. Following this massive success, Tautou went on to star in several films, like British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's film Un long dimanche de fiancailles. In addition, she was a part of Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
