Jenna Fischer was best known for her portrayal of Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) in the television show. Her role on The Office has earned her an Emmy nod for the Best Supporting Actress category and she also was awarded two SAG Awards, both for outstanding performances by an ensemble comedy.
She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but her family was primarily from St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna spent her childhood watching her mother Anne who was a church performer. The experience instilled a love for theatre.
She's an actress trained who returned to the stage after The Office. She was a part of Josh Hamilton Leslie Bibb Fred Weller in Neil LaBute's Off Broadway production Reasons for Being Happy. In Steve Martin's new play Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy featuring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg), she performed in the record-breaking Old Globe Theatre's world premiere.
The Office actress Angela Kinsey Fischer, who is her real-life best friend as well as a castmate, started Office Ladies in October 2019 on Earwolf. The show became hugely popular and ranked within the Top Ten of the world every week. It had more than 200 million downloaded during its first two years. Office Ladies received the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year award in the month of January in 2021.
The Actor's Life was her first novel, and describes the path she traveled to get from St. Louis, Missouri to Hollywood, where she became an actress professionally. Her next book, Office BFF's (co-authored by Angela Kinsey) is a memoir of her most beloved friend as well as their time at The Office.
